OUR NAME

Robur Capital takes its name from Quercus robur, also known as the English oak or common oak. The epithet robur means robust. The English oak is an imposing specimen so it is no coincidence that it symbolises strength and fertility. It may be slow-growing, but it produces very durable wood and can live for over 400 years. And few trees have such deep roots as the English oak.

Quercus robur perfectly reflects our investment philosophy and way of working: durable, sustainable value creation thanks to partnerships with like-minded entrepreneurs and co-investors. For us, these shared values are akin to the roots of a tree. And a tree with strong roots can weather many a storm.
